Privacy Policy
How Split UPI handles QR details, payment-session information, and device permissions.
Effective date: September 18, 2026
At a glance: Split UPI processes payment details temporarily on your device. It does not create an account, keep payment history, or send your payment-session data to Tranz Technologies.
Split UPI (the “App”) is developed by Tranz Global Tech Llp (“Tranz Technologies,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you scan or enter UPI payment details, split an amount, and open a payment request.
Our privacy commitment
Split UPI is a lightweight payment helper. It does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, tracking, or a Tranz Technologies backend. We do not collect, sell, rent, or retain your UPI payment details, merchant information, payment amounts, or payment history.
Camera and QR code processing
The App requests camera access only so you can scan a UPI payment QR code. Camera frames and detected QR content are processed on your device. Split UPI does not record or save camera images, upload camera content to Tranz Technologies, or access your photo library. You can deny or revoke camera permission in your device settings and enter a UPI ID manually instead.
Payment information handled by the App
When you scan a QR code or enter details manually, the App may temporarily process the payee’s UPI ID, payee name, merchant category, transaction reference, transaction note, currency, other parameters contained in the QR code, and the amount you enter. This information is used only to calculate the payment split and prepare each UPI payment request on your device.
Temporary, on-device session data
Payment details, split amounts, the current payment step, and your manual confirmations exist only in the App’s temporary memory for the current session. The App does not create a payment history or store this information in a local database, cloud service, or Tranz Technologies server. Resetting or closing the App may clear the session.
UPI apps, banks, and payment providers
When you choose to pay, Split UPI sends the prepared UPI payment request to the compatible UPI app you select. That request can include the merchant details, amount, currency, transaction reference, transaction note, and other parameters from the original QR code. The selected UPI app, your bank, the payee’s bank, the UPI network, and their service providers process the payment under their own privacy policies and terms. Tranz Technologies does not control their data practices.
Generated payment QR codes
If you choose “Show QR instead,” the App generates a QR code on your device containing the same UPI payment request for the current split amount. Anyone who can view or scan that QR may be able to see or use the payment details it contains. The App does not upload or retain the generated QR code.
Payment status
Returning to Split UPI from another payment app does not prove that a payment was completed or settled. The App asks you to confirm each step manually and does not receive or store bank-verified transaction status. A completed flow in the App means only that you confirmed the steps; it is not a receipt or bank confirmation.
Information we do not collect
The current version of Split UPI does not collect names, phone numbers, email addresses, contacts, precise location, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, usage analytics, crash reports, financial account credentials, UPI PINs, or bank account balances. Never enter your UPI PIN anywhere other than the trusted UPI app or bank interface you selected.
Data sharing and sale
Because Tranz Technologies does not collect App session data, we do not sell, rent, or use it for advertising or profiling. Information is disclosed from your device only when you direct the App to open a UPI payment request or present a generated payment QR for another device to scan.
Security and your choices
Protect access to your device, check the merchant and amount before approving a payment, and use only UPI apps and banking services you trust. You can stop using the App at any time by closing or uninstalling it. You can manage camera permission through your Android or iOS settings.
Children’s privacy
Split UPI is a general payment utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. Payment-service age and eligibility requirements are determined by the user’s bank, UPI app, and applicable law.
App stores and third-party software
Your download and use of the App through an app store is also subject to that store’s privacy policy and terms. The App uses software libraries for QR scanning, QR generation, formatting, and opening external links. These features operate as part of the App; the current version does not use them to send analytics or advertising data to Tranz Technologies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Split UPI’s features, data practices, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will apply prospectively from the updated effective date.
